Their metres-long cabinet houses the creations of around 24 Kiwi cheesemakers, and their knowledgeable staff will help you navigate the selection to find your next favourite (or multiple favourites!). Whether you’re creating a loaded cheese platter or just want one perfect flavour to complement a special bottle of wine, Moore Wilson’s is guaranteed to have what you’re looking for.
What has made Moore Wilson’s so successful for so long is their dedication to provenance, supporting local and giving their customers the best range of good and experience possible. They frequently host Kiwi cheesemakers for tastings and meet-and-greets in store, which is just as valuable for discerning customers as it is for the staff to remain educated about the products and to understand the people behind the cheese.
As specialty grocers, the Moore Wilson’s team also have intimate knowledge of which crackers and condiments will make their Kiwi cheeses sing. Moore Wilson’s have actively increased their variety of alternative milk cheeses as New Zealand cheesemakers have been getting wildly innovative in the past few years; Marlborough-based Cranky Goat is an industry leader when it comes to goats cheese, with recipes that bring out the creamier, milder flavours of goats milk so it can be appreciated by a much wider audience. Drunken Nanny (Wairarapa) do all of their milking and manufacturing on the one site, and their fresh chevre style cheese stocked by Moore Wilsons is an absolute must-try!
